THE FINAL DAY OF THE MATCH RACE CUP

After the finish of the Match Race Cup, it only remains for us to inform you about the last two days of the competition. Due to the lack of wind, which occasionally appeared over the weekend, and even then was weak and unstable, it wasn't possible to hold the rest of the races.
On Monday, December 6th, the organizers have tried to get the official winner one more time, by prolonging the regatta for one more day, but unfortunately without any success. Although there was no official winner, the awards ceremony was held in the cafe bar "Teodorus". The skippers of five Montenegrin teams have received vouchers for a free weekend in hotel "Splendid" in Becici, while the team from Serbia received the tickets to a Rambo Amadeus concert, December 17th in Belgrade.
The teams have shown enthusiasm from the very beginning and although these types of regattas take both time and money, they have shown that this sport is worth it. They invite other teams to step forward and take part in all the regattas organized in Montenegro. This is also a good motivation for the young teams in Montenegro, who represent the future of the crusaders sailing. Avel Yachting wants to thank to its sponsored team, gathered only 7 days before the Match Race cup. The team consists of young individuals: Toni Belan, Damir Montić, Luka Maslovarić, Majda Begović i Stefani Račić, who were a good competition to other temas. We would also like to thank their mentor - Robert Farkas.
Director of Avel Yachtinga, Mr. Marjan Dimitrijević, has thanked all the teams for participating and sharing a positive spirit, as well as the judges Zeljko Katunaric and Sinisa Samac. We owe special gratitude to our sponsors: pizzeria „Ambient“, hotel „Splendid“, Porto Montenegru, Tourism Organization Tivat, pastry „Minjon“ i cafe bar „Regata“.
Avel Yachting will as always be trying to find understanding among the sponsors, so more identical and regatta boats could be brought to Montenegro. This would attract more sailing teams to Montenegor, as well as world known skippers. With such a promotion of this type of sailing, and by involving young individuals, we will be able to lift this sport to a level which it deserves in Montenegro.
