HANSE YACHTS MATCH RACE CUP 2009 MONTENEGRO – THE FINAL RESULTS

Sunday, November 8th was the final day of the Hanse Yachts Match Race Cup 2009 Montenegro. Since the weather conditions of the third day of the match weren’t good (November, 6th), there wasn’t any sailing.

On the 4th day of the match (November, 7th), the visitors could see the following matches:

Match No. 1: Saša Keković vs. Niko Belan. The result: Niko Belan was the first to reach the goal.

Match No. 2: Bojan Grego vs. Neno Franović. The result: Neno Franović was the first to reach the goal.

On the last day of the match (November, 8th), there were two great matches:

The finals: Neno Franović vs. Bojan Grego. The result: Neno Franović was the first to reach the goal, and with that he became the winner of the Hanse Yachts Match Race Cup 2009 Montenegro.

The semi-finals: Saša Keković vs. Niko Belan. The result: Saša Keković was the first to reach the goal and won the 3rd place.

So, the final results of the Hanse Yachts Match Race Cup 2009 Montenegro are:

1. place – Neno Franović
2. place – Bojan Grego
3. place – Saša Keković
4. place – Niko Belan

The judges of the Match Race were Željko Katunanić and Roko Musta from Split (Croatia).

The awarding ceremony was held in the cafe bar Regata in Tivat, on November, 8th. The organizer, the contestants and the guests were presents at the awarding ceremony, where the Director of the Porto Montenegro marina, Tony Browne, handed the awards to the winners.

The Director of Avel Yachting, Marjan Dimitrijević thanked all the hemlsmen and their crew, organization team, team on the water, photographers, media, Porto Montenegro and cafe bar Regata who responded to the invitation and made this event greater. „We hope that the successful start of this new type of sailing in Montenegro will open the way to the fact that this event becomes a tradition. Until next time – Calm sea and a good wind!“, said Mr. Dimitrijević.
