Sail loft winter storage

1. Washing down the sails:

• Rinsing up with fresh water
• Cleaning (all necessary detergents included)
• Rinsing up again

2. Drying sails up as many times as necessary to make them completely dry before storage

• Depending on the weather lifting sails to dry in the light breeze/sunny days until they are entirely dry to the touch

3. Removing sails

• Upon removal, all fittings (battens, ropes, sail covers, lazy jacks, shackles) are being properly stored and secured

4. Technical inspection 

• Upon technical inspection, we prepare the report of needed service (documented by pictures). The owner is notified about possible repair costs by mail for decision if to proceed to maintenance or not

5. Folding sails 

• Thoroughly, not always on same creases, avoiding windows

6. Storing into sail bag

7. Dry storage for 6 months

• In our safe sail loft located in Porto Montenegro 

8. Mounting sails back up

• A few days/weeks before owner’s arrival
